YouTube Comments
The host of the Polyphonic Spree Forum sent me an e-mail about how much he liked my "interpretation" of Suitcase Calling that I posted on YouTube. That made me feel pretty good. Someone else left a comment below the post that said, "you really didn't need the commentary, It would have been nicer with an interestin video to go with it." I guess some people just don't get it.

That's cool as hell about the Polyphonic Spree comment. Ignore the stupid people who don't get what you're trying to do. They are slow. Like Rebecca Slow.

ReplyDeleteHello WM-
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to read this. I am writing you to ask about your work on this video, which is gone now :'(
You typed words and your thoughts about it as the song played, including how the instrumentation was building up. It was a really cool deconstruction of how the vocals were layered and even how there were certain instruments like, an oboe or something...I don't remember now, but it was just amazing because I was just fascinated how it led my ears through the song and helped guide me to notice parts of the music I would otherwise have completely not observed.
I've followed up on the comments now and think it is a shame, because I thought the work was derivative and in fair use. It was also very meaningful to me and I would love to see it again, read the script you added, or at least receive help to even just simply know which artist the song was by and the name of the song.
Again, thank you very much for reading this. I would love it if I could just read the narrative you added once more.
Sincerely,
